The breakfast was good, a great selection, room very clean. Bed super comfortable and the view from my view was incredible

Fabulous place to stay for several days!

Great location, walking distance to old city and just across the street from the Castillo San Felipe. Nice pool on the roof! Excellent breakfast! Super staff!

No view in the room but the comfort made up for it.

Very Good

Good sized rooms with large comfortable beds. Excellent varied breakfast. Staff were friendly. Modern hotel. Good location just outside of the old town opposite a fort, fantastic views.

Noisy road out of the front of the hotel with frequent "party buses" passing by and waiting outside. The bar bill was frequently wrong with extra drinks being added on. I would suggest checking carefully and paying everyday to avoid issues on check out. The pool needs to be kept clear of drinks and food, I felt the staff should be more proactive in cleaning up after guests.

Front desk staff very attentive, professional, polite. Roberto was a top tier gentleman. My first time here in columbia, and I am in love ️ . Juan is taxi driver will take you anywhere and super sweet. The breakfast spread was extensive fresh press juices, cereal, eggs, pancake, columbia selective foods. There's a small selection for vegan's which is very thoughtful.

The only thing that I can say is I would've like a microwave to heat up food when you want to bring food to snack on later my husband always have a lil something in evening.

Very clean and comfortable hotel and room, Very comfortable beds, good shower and tv.great staff who were very attentive, nice swimming pool, great outdoor area with amazing views of the Castle/Fort. Very good breakfast each morning. In a good, safe location. Good Restaurant.

WiFi not very good once you left the restaurant area, very bad in the outdoor terrace. Bit expensive.

What was the highlight of GHL San Lazaro Art Hotel

How a hotel should be run.

This is how it should be done. We arrived tired, hot and grumpy after an apartment was cancelled on us, and were immediately offered a delicious cold fruit drink at reception. Check in was a breeze (thank you Henry) and we were shown to our room soon after where everything was explained clearly to us. The room was clean and very spacious with a fantastic view over the road to San Felipe fort, one of Cartagena's major attractions. Proper double glazing kept the noise down. The rooftop terrace and bar was a great place to have dinner and a drink (Jose mixed us a couple of mean Margaritas and gave us a salsa demonstration!). Breakfast was a generous buffet overseen by a very friendly maitre d' who remembered our names each day. There is a rooftop pool to cool off in. Secure underground parking is provided and there is a lift from the carpark. We walked into the old city, which takes about ten or fifteen minutes, or a taxi is fifteen thousand pesos. There's a huge shopping mall right behind the hotel if you've forgotten anything. All this is great, but the stand out feature is the staff, who were so friendly, helpful and fun and that is what elevates a good hotel to an excellent one.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Spacious room, clean and cozy.

The staff for breakfast is somehow under-dimensioned. The buffet is often empty and you need to wait a while for replenishment.

Location , outside of the historical center which means no noise. Located next to a small mall. Wonderfull rooms with good beds. Excellent breakfast . Staff is great.

Trick people to pay extra, not change towels. Force you to pay for water you bought in mall.

The amazing view , not many floors . Mall is 1 minute from the hotel . Its a short walk of 20 minute to other things.

I ruined a bottle from the fridge , i need to pay and Thats alright . Today on checkout , i needed to pay for it again the dame bottle . I bought all my water from mall but they made me pay for 2 water bottle that i didnt touch. Total 3 bottles was 54000 cop . Not enough with that . My girl used a Towel that for her makeup and that towel stayed in bathroo. For 3 days . I drop it on the floor , they would have pixket it up and just foldes it again and put it back in place . They said i overpay , i would Get a refound but they take money X2 from me , they say that they have refounded me and i need to talk to my bank , why i have not recived money . I used my card 2 times in hotel . 1 to pay and the other time was to Get refound . Both times they actually withdrew money from me . Sorry guys dont stay in this place .

What was the highlight of GHL San Lazaro Art Hotel

A very nice place with exceptional staff.

Everyone was as helpful and nice as can be. The staff was amazing, by far the hotel’s BEST feature. The food at the restaurant was very good, and did not seem over priced for being at a hotel as opposed to eating somewhere in the city. Many people spoke English and that was helpful when I just couldn’t find the right words in Spanish. There’s a great mall just behind the hotel, about a block and a half away that had a grocery store in it which was all incredibly convenient. I never felt unsafe even though some people raised an eyebrow where in I told them where we were staying. The view of the fort was amazing.

Nothing to dislike, really. It would not be fair to compare it to the same standards that I look for at home. Different country, different expectations but these are a few, minor inconveniences we encountered: The room could have been a little bit more comfortable. Apart from the bed, there was a small table and two very uncomfortable chairs, like a little bistro set. It would’ve been nice to have perhaps an arm chair or some small sofa to sit on. The curtains never closed completely and although the staff tried to fix it, it never really was fixed. There were no towel bars or hooks anywhere in the bathroom to hang up a towel once used. There was one of those small clothes lines that has a little knob that you pull out and string across, which, was actually in the shower stall but that would not support the weight of the towel and would not dry with the humidity.

Great location, right across from Castillo de San Felipe and a short cab ride to the Walled City & Getsemani.. There is a mall across the street, ATM at the door, restaurants etc in walking distance.The staff goes above and beyond for your comfort. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The room was very spacious and bed large and comfortable. 10/10 Thank you!

I almost want to keep this hotel to myself and not tell anyone because it was so perfect!! Staff so friendly, breakfast was so good. Pool was lovely!! Location tucked away and across from ocean with gorgeous view!!

Nothing! There was nothing to complain about. Small boutique hotel with just a few rooms. You felt like royalty!! Would definitely go back!!

- Amazing place to stay at in Cartagena. Especially the staff is very nice.
